Every child at Easton Royal Academy has a secure online learning journal through the app 'SeeSaw'.  If you are not already linked to your child's account or if you are haven't difficulty logging in, please speak to your child's teacher.

Each family can nominate up to 10 people to link to their child's account.  Linked people will receive regular learning updates directly from the classroom and will be able to comment and encourage children when they have shared their learning.

The important thing is to talk about the learning at home, helping children to consolidate their understanding and to make links to what they already know - this will help them remember!

Our aim is for parents to be empowered to support their child's learning in school with activities and discussion at home.  in order to do this effectively we:

1. Provide weekly (sometimes daily)  updates about what children are learning and doing in school. We do this using an app called 'SeeSaw' (details below).  This keeps parents informed and allows them to make their own decisions about how to consolidate learning through further discussion over tea or through additional activities or visits.

2. Provide set weekly homework tasks. The amount of homework changes depending on your age and stage.  Set tasks are usually in Maths and English with additional tasks in other subjects.  Please talk to your child's teacher if you would like to do homework differently with your child, we can usually accommodate different ways of working.

3. Provide resources for children to develop reading and number fluency.  We do this through sending home regular reading books for your child to read aloud to you each night and/or morning.  We track this via an A5 hardback diary.  KS1 children have a personal account on 'NUMBOTS' so they can practice addition and subtraction facts at home.  KS2 children and some year 2 have a personal account on 'TTRockStars' to enable them to practice fluency with timestables.
