Governors
The Headteacher has responsibility for running the school on a day to day basis whilst the governing body is accountable to parents, the community and the Local Education Authority for ensuring the school provides a good education. It has the responsibility to set the vision and strategic direction of the school and also to support and challenge the Headteacher.

We have Governors who are either elected by parents or appointed from the local community.

The whole Governing Body meets at least four times a year and holds an annual parents meeting to present their plans to parents. The governors are divided into two committees, Staffing and Curriculum which is responsible for overseeing educational and staffing matters and Finance and Premises which oversees the planning, budgetary and property administration. These Committees meet termly and report to the full governing body. We also set up working parties on specific issues as and when they arise.
School Development Plan
Our vision is to become a school of excellence. This means:

- excellence in leadership and management
- excellence in communications and relationships
In order to achieve this vision we work to our strategic plan which sets out priorities for development for the next 5 years. At the start of each academic year we review our strategy and set the School Development Plan for the year. Both documents are available in school should you wish to find out more.
The annual School Profile, which is available from the school office, provides details of school performance, attendance and plans for the future, as well as giving a general overview of the school.
